The original series of Get Smart aired from 1965 - 1970. It was loosely based on a secret agency called CONTROL. CONTROL's main headquarters is located in Washington, D.C., and it's goal is to fight for the niceness and goodness of the nation. However, to achieve this, CONTROL must continuously battle KAOS, a foreign secret agency who fights for bad and evil. Most of the time, KAOS would succeed in destroying CONTROL and gaining control of the world, if it weren't for one man - Maxwell Smart.
Agent 86 of CONTROL, known lovingly as Maxwell Smart, is a highly intelligent, magnificently debonair, and amazingly clumsy secret agent. He often defeats KAOS with his adorable partner, (and later, wife) Agent 99 of CONTROL. The Chief of CONTROL often helps Max out of dangerous predicaments. Other friends of Max (and agents of CONTROL) are Larabee, Hymie the robot, and Admiral Hardgrave. Enemies of CONTROL include all KAOS agents, particularly Siegfried and Shtarker.
Max, 99, and the rest of the CONTROL gang often find themselves in ridiculous situations with even more ridiculous escapes. Check out this awesome show!
